UOI -  For UOI our current unit which we are learning is space and I am pretty interested in space. I asked a question to the whole class which was "How was human made before the big bang started?" people say it is because of the evolution like from a fish to something else. For UOI I think I am doing a good job researching and last year I had trouble but now I am using my research skill.Click here

UOI- In UOI I learned how to use garage band. What I learn in garage band is How to record your voice and how to use your voice in a way like how to check if your voice is to loud and to soft. Mr Birch has also taught us how to use different techniques for your voice like instead using your normal voice you could change your voice example like mouse voice or other voice. Me and Sidhonie worked together for the radio show for our project and how to put in the music and other things in it. Those are the things for UOI I learned.

Math- For math our current unit which we are learning is Percentage and fractions and rounding the numbers. I find rounding  decimal  numbers really hard. I learnt how to convert the percentage into a decimal. I think the geometry test which I did was pretty good score which was 21/33 I think what I did well was finding the volume of shapes. I need to practice my times tables which 12 and 13. click here

Math: One thing I learned to do is learn Algebra and Geometry. We have not learned Algebra but I learned it outside of school for the learner profile I think I am independent learning something I did not know how to. I also learned geometry in geometry I learned how to do the area for a triangle. I want to learn on rounding to the nearest tens for the decimal I have troubles on.

Music: I think in music I have been improving by not making that much of squeaky sound. Last year in the beginning of the year I had trouble making sound but now I am making the sound of A note. I learnt how to play most of the note but some of the notes I am having trouble.

Music: In Music I think learned how to play Guantanemera which is like a music piece Ms Meridino helped me with the piece and how to make a note which I dont know which note I think this year I had improved with my clarinet a lot and how to make a sound and stay to the beat and rhythm.

Mandarin- I think in mandarin I need to learned because the words are hard to pronounce. I think being in  Canvia class  is the perfect level because then the mandarin teacher can help more. One thing I improved in mandarin is the pronunciation.
Being in Canvia class helps me for focus.

Mandarin: In mandarin I learned on reading the character and learning to say the tones correctly. I also improved on being more independent and focus more and doing more writing in Mandarin.

Typing- I think in typing I am doing a good job because in year 3 and year 4 I had troubles like the keys and beginning of year 5 I had troubles I was in master key 12 and now I am on 23 I finding typing more easy the thing which I find more easy is the keys and fingers.


Typing: In typing I learned on using the correct fingers and keeping the speed suitable those are things I improved on and     I also think I improved on keeping the error rates low.



Art: In Art I learned how to do a silk painting and I also learned learned how to embossing. I learned that embossing is easy for me because is like using your sketch book but instead you are using a foil a really different foil then the foil that we use for kitchen. Silk painting is a bit hard because you have be careful not to put to much and if you do one mistake you cant erase it like a pencil but In Art I try my best.


Art : In Art I think in art I am speaking more louder and asking more question if I dont understand I think in Art I am doing a good job of being more independent and more help if I dont know where to being.


P.E : In P.E I think I improved on gymnastic before I can do the bridge and now I could and the roll and the other stuff those are the things I improved on.

P.E : In P.E I want to learn how to the cartwheel and handstand those are the two stuff that I want to learn at. I can practice in my room every 2 min.

 Hi everyone our exhibition is over and I thought I will write a reflection of what has happened. I think during the exhibition our group has done well on presenting to parents and students and have been really cooperating and communicating well. What I did well was on talking to kids that it is not good to litter and why I also done well on communicating and answering people questions. Next time I want to work on being organized and try take a lead on some of the roles I also think I can work on teamwork because mostly Dorothy takes control more then I do so I think I need to work on teamwork and communication skill. What I enjoyed most in the exhibition is sticking the logo on the bin that is how we took action.

 For our exhibition we had our final display. We had many guest that came in like grade 4 and grade 7. the grade 7 were the scariest. There were many people that came to our grade 5 exhibition. We got 1 in the evening with our parents who are going to come. Many people came to our litter place like they played the game. We have a live stream and 1 school came which was the China people on the live stream. A live stream is basically you can chat with other people around the world. People are playing because they want the prizes. The presentation is really fun. And me and Dorothy are having great time like other kids. Tomorrow we have also gotten the presentation.

In the litter group, for our exhibition we have stuck the logo in every class and we have stuck them on the dustbin. We photo copied 85 logos. We had 82 but our mentor Ms Kim said we should have 3 more extra copies just in case we made a mistake. Dorothy and I have to be done with our game and the slide show, and the questions. We do not really have any concerns, I think we are done with almost everything like the research and logo. We just need to put everything together. The area I am proud of is finding the information and keep writing it on a piece of paper. We want people to know that littering is bad for the environment and it is bad for the sea animals and other land and water things.

Exhibition 05/02/2010
 
In the exhibition we are having a presentation in 3 weeks. Dorothy my best friend and me we are working on littering. Like how to stop littering and change people to stop. Yesturday we put our logo on the trash bin. before we do that we had to email the class teacher. And Dorothy and I got a lot of email from the teachers. When we did that we did that after school. And our Mentor Ms Kim we worked on the dustbin. And we are suppose to laminate them but then we put the paper down and it started to go in and then we are suppose to put plastic but then it got broke. But the fixer are going to fix it as soon as possible. We printed 82 and we added 3 more so 85 just incase we made a mistake.

Alice in Wonderland
Hi I am going to tell you about Maggy's Party. First of all let me tell you who is Maggy. Maggy is 1 of my friend in Grade 5 same school but different class. She is really smart Enthusiastic Friend. She helped me last year because last year I had trouble with my Math and other things. So that is a little information about her. So I had attend Maggy Party. She has had a movie party. And there was 10 kids in our class and some in the other class. We had watched Alice in Wonderland. The tittle is funny because there is Alice in our class. So it looked like she was the star. I sat next to 3 girls because they want me to sit next to them. I wanted to sit next to Olivia but then Dorothy and Sidhonie want me to sit next to them I have walk one place to another. And it was really Silly. When I was in the girl bathroom. Clio scared me. Clio always scare me and I find that funny. For the present I had Food eraser. My hobby is to collect food eraser. And I got 40 food eraser and I am going to keep on collecting food eraser. My Mum and my father cousin picked me up. It was really fun Birthday party. In My 13th Party I am going to have a big party. Like my brother I am going to copy him. Next year he is not coming because he is going to University in UK. So I am going to be alone for awhile with no brother.  So I had a great Saturday with my friends and Family on 24th of April. 2010

 I think the parent teacher conference went well because teachers were positive  said that things I need to improve on. And I thought it makes sense what I need to improve on. I think in the parent teacher conference I need to work on using the dictionary more because if I do not how to spell a word I can look it on the word tool. That is one of the things I need to improve on, in the parent teacher conference we talked about the new unit which is How we change the Body? and I have been showing my E-portfolio. I am improving in math, I chose math my improvement  because I thought I did well. What I did well is decimal and fractions. My weakness is UOI because It is hard to understand and it is sort hard to follow what's going on that is why I chose UOI. My parent did not really ask anything to me only to the teachers so nothing really. About my E-Portfolio I thought I did well because I explain it well.  I agreed I will go on word tool. to see how to spell the words and I am trying that everyday. My parents help me improve on helping me in Mandarin they are going to give me tutor during the summer. I think the conference went well because the teachers were Positive and they gave me things I need to improve on and made sense what I need to improve on. I had improved on reading before I was in book 2 in D.R.A now I am higher and so is My reading continuum  and I thought My reading is fluent I am not stopping word by word and I really improved on that by going fluent, I am also reading medium books and other books. In other subjects I am also improving and developing. I don't want to change anything I want to continue with a Positive and great year ahead of me.
